The OKWUeagle.com staff members asked various people around campus for their best and worst Valentine’s Day memories. Here is what they had to tell us:
“One year my sister and I were given roses made of dollars and small boxes of chocolates by some of their friends. But my mom was given a carton of prune juice!” Alyssa Koons, freshman.
“For the past three years I have been sick on valentines day. I guess I wasn’t meant to wow ladies with my romanticism.” Ben Godwin, freshman.
“The worst Valentine’s was one year when I ate so much Mexican food I got sick, and the best year was when I got Spanish roses.” Jordan Brazda, junior.
“When I was about 13 I gave a girl a box of chocolates. Instead of taking it she ran away!” Ben Nicolai, junior.
“When I was in 5th grade a boy named Harvey gave me a heart-shaped box of chocolates and on the inside he wrote, “To: Kathy From: Harvey.” I still have the box. It was my first valentine from a boy.” Kathy Lindquist, Assistant to the President.
“I usually always get new underwear for Valentine’s day from my mom. To justify this, I was eight. I don’t get them anymore.” A freshman who refused to be named.
“Last year was my best Valentine’s Day, because my best friend Johnathan Warlick sent me a very sweet valentine with Spongebob on it.” Jessica Swan, senior
