Loan Policies for OWU Library Materials

You may search the OWU Library database from the Internet by going to http://www.okwueagle.com. Click on Academics, then click on Library. On the Library page, you will click on “OWU Library Catalog on LibraryNet.” Search by keyword, subject, author, or title.
Because of the distance and class schedules of students enrolled in the Adult and Graduate Studies programs, books may be checked out for 4 weeks. A one-week grace period is allowed. However, if materials are kept overdue beyond the grace period, a fine of 15 cents per item per day will be assessed retroactive to the first day overdue.

Books from the OWU Library may be renewed no more than once. Students enrolled in the AGS programs may renew by mail, fax, email, or telephone. When you receive your overdue notice, it is helpful if you write a note directly on the overdue notice and mail or fax it to the library. If you request a renewal by email or phone, please give your name, the title of the book/s and the circulation (barcode) number/s. The library reserves the right to recall books needed by other patrons.

Books may be returned to the OWU Library during regular hours or given to professors from campus. Off-site classes may mail them in a cardboard box or padded envelope to the address below.

Lost Books

Books not returned by the end of the semester or two weeks before the final class, whichever is appropriate, will be considered lost. The library will submit a bill to the business office charging the student’s account as follows: $30.00 replacement charge (or cost of item if higher) plus a $10.00 handling charge. If the lost item is found and returned, the $30.00 replacement fee will be canceled; however, a fine of 15 cents per day will be charged for each day the item was overdue to a maximum fine of $15.00 plus the $10.00 handling charge.
